The deployment is built around a visible operating use case rather than equipment alone: the motorcycles support day-to-day logistics and on-demand delivery in Ghana, and the fleet was designed to create delivery jobs for young people and university graduates as part of a youth-employment mobility initiative. The battery swapping network supplies the daily energy behind that operation.
Vehicle, battery and cabinet capacity were planned as one operating model rather than three separate equipment orders.
Vehicle count, daily operating intensity and battery demand were defined first, so the 87 cabinets and 3,557-battery pool were sized around real fleet use — roughly 2.7 batteries per motorcycle and 15 motorcycles per cabinet. The higher-than-private-ownership battery ratio is deliberate: packs are simultaneously on bikes, charging in cabinets, or ready to exchange.
Motorcycles, swappable batteries and cabinets share standardized mechanical, electrical and communication interfaces, so the fleet can expand under the same architecture without re-integration.
TYCORUN's scope spans the motorcycles, batteries, cabinets and the self-developed PASS operating platform, with two engineers deployed on the ground in Ghana for commissioning and early operation — an integrated fleet-energy system rather than a collection of individual products.

Commercial motorcycles need high daily availability. Plug-in charging parks each vehicle for hours on its own charging cycle; swapping separates riding from charging — a depleted battery is exchanged for a charged one in seconds, while the depleted pack recharges in the cabinet. Riders stay on the road during working hours.
1,300 electric motorcycles, 3,557 swappable batteries and 87 swap cabinets, planned as one fleet-energy system (~2.7 batteries per vehicle, ~15 vehicles per cabinet).
It is a model, not an audited result. At Ghana's September 2026 petrol price (~GH¢16.26/L) and ~40 km/L economy, petrol costs about GH¢0.41/km; at ~30 Wh/km and PURC commercial tariffs, electrical energy costs roughly GH¢0.04–0.09/km — an energy-only saving of ~78–89%, leaving 60%+ as a conservative net figure even after the operator's swap service fee. Real savings depend on tariffs, load, route and fuel prices.
PASS is the mobility and delivery operating platform for this project, designed and customized by TYCORUN itself in roughly two weeks — connecting vehicles, batteries, swap cabinets and fleet workflows on one system. Africano Electro operates PASS locally for day-to-day fleet management; it is not a third-party platform that TYCORUN had to integrate with.
About 24 days for sample production and testing to pass, then roughly two months to run the batteries, cabinets, motorcycles and the PASS platform through together as a complete system before the fleet order. Production and delivery of all 1,300 vehicles, 3,557 batteries and 87 cabinets took approximately six months, with two TYCORUN engineers supporting commissioning on the ground in Ghana.
Yes. The sizing method (duty cycle → battery pool → cabinet distribution) is market-neutral and is already deployed across multiple TYCORUN projects. Inputs that change by market are fuel price, electricity tariff, climate adaptation, local certification and payment integration.
